Both the BBC and Nature have reported on the government’s microgeneration strategy, which (as always) seems to promise much and deliver little. Comprehensive reports on distributed and microgeneration have been around for a few months now and this launch is essentially the public announcement.

Although any action is better than none, it is looking increasingly doubtful whether the government will take a stand to change planning and electricity generation regulations to allow a decent decentralised system – especially given the lean towards new nuclear build.
