New Scientist have published three features on recent discoveries and advances in dinosaur research – it’s little wonder that they have dubbed the past decade “the golden age of dinosaurs”. The thing that really caught my attention was a map showing well-established sites and the locations of recent discoveries. They seem to be springing up faster that Starbucks outlets. Imagine what it must be like trying to dig fossils out of the Transantarctic Mountains – would you have to swap your brush for a blowtorch?
